St. Luke’s West Side Shared Ministry
When you are grocery shopping this week, please take the time to pick up some
baby food. The Painesville Food Force urgently requests baby food for all
stages, as well as all other food. Please also continue to save your
Pennies for Hunger , by observing the Two Cents a Meal discipline or bringing all
your pennies to the church. The money goes to the Hunger Network and St. Luke’s.
You can also support St. Luke’s by sponsoring all or part of a weekly
meal – place your money in the pockets posted on the bulletin board outside
the kitchen door. $2.00 pays for a meal.
St. Bart’s will be going to serve dinners on the last Wednesday of every
month this year. If you wish to attend, please be ready at the church by 4:30pm.
Please see Chuck or Norma Keay for details.
Lay Ministry
Greeters Needed! The Worship Committee is expanding the Lay Minister schedule
to include one to two Greeters every Sunday for the 10:30am service. If interested
n being a Greeter, please see Bruce Cory or Betsy Limmex. In addition, please also
let either of them know if you are interested in ANY other lay ministry position
(Lector, Usher, Acolyte, Altar Guild, Eucharist Minister, etc).
Prayer Shawl Ministry
The Prayer Shawl Ministry is open to anyone who knits, crochets, or wants
to learn how to create prayer shawls while meditating. The group meets at 7:00 p.m.
in the “knitting room” on the first and third Wednesday of the month.
Finished and blessed shawls are also available if
someone wants to give one to another person.
If you have questions, talk to Liz York.
Music Ministry
Choir? Yes, we are working on forming a Saint Bartholomew Choir! The Worship
Committee, with the support of our Vestry, is hard at work on enhancing our Sunday
music ministry. Please see the Choir Sign-up sheet located on the bulletin board
outside the kitchen area.
Internet Outreach
Saint Bart’s is now on Facebook! If you are a Facebook user, please join us online
for friendly discussions, fellowship and enrichment, and to keep up-to-date on the l
atest Parish goings-on! Our Parish website development project is also in full swing
for non-Facebook users and we hope to have the site up very soon. Thanks to all who
are helping with both Internet outreach ministries.
